We all have them — a basket or bag or box (usually more than one) of yarns left over from earlier projects, random balls acquired from sale bins or friends, skeins that were meant for a specific project but no longer appeal, partial balls that are too small to use by themselves but too big to throw away. . .

Learn to look at your yarn as potential. As inspiration for something you never thought of before. As a jumping-off point for your crazy creative ideas. This class is all about play and inspiration. Bring a relaxed attitude and creative spirit and prepare to have some fun with yarn. You’ll be offered a variety of patterns to choose from to jump start your creative endeavor.

If you’ve taken this class before, this year’s edition offers all new projects.

Date/Time: Saturday, September 26, 2026 1:30-4:30 PM

Supplies:

  • 10 or more balls of yarn in assorted colors. Mix yarn weights if you want to. These balls of yarn can range from less than an ounce of leftovers to a whole untouched skein. Maybe you have a ball you bought from the sale bin that’s never found its project. Maybe you bought too much yarn for a sweater a few years ago. Maybe someone gave you something you’ve never known what to do with or maybe you bought yarn you loved once but no longer want to use as planned or maybe you loved the yarn so much you treasure every leftover piece. The whole idea is to take what you have and have fun with it.
  • Needles in a variety of your favorite sizes - straight, circular, and double-pointed needles - whatever you prefer.
  • Crochet hook or two
  • Standard knitter's tool kit items: scissors, tape measure, stitch markers, pencil, sewing-up needle, crochet hook for picking up dropped stitches, etc.

Homework: None

Skill Level: Intermediate: Confident Beginner level skills plus some experience with yarn over patterns, cables, ribbing; comfortable with pattern interpretation. Has completed several projects.
