Come and learn how to spin yarn using a drop spindle! Students will cover a basic historical overview of hand-spinning and how that relates to textiles today. Instruction will be given regarding different types of fibers that can be spun as well as different wool varieties. Spinning direction, ply structure, utilization of a wrist distaff and lazy kate and basic finishing techniques of a handspun hank will be covered.

Materials Fee: $25- Includes a drop spindle to keep and 6 oz of wool roving with three different breeds of wool. Pay teacher directly in cash. Exact change appreciated.
