Mosaic Crochet: An Introduction with Valerie Ciliberti (9/28/24 8:30 AM)
With mosaic crochet you create striking color patterns by working contrasting colors of yarn down into previous rows. If you are comfortable using single and double crochet, you can easily learn the variations you will need to master this fascinating technique.
There are two ways of working mosaic crochet--row by row and in the round. Both use the same stitch technique and can be worked from charts or from written instructions. In this class we will be working from charts as we learn both methods.
Row by row: First you will learn and practice the basic stitches by creating a small, two-color mug rug with a fringed edge.
In the round: Next you will begin working from the center out on a square piece that could have a number of uses. By the end of the class, you will be ready to complete the pattern on your own.
