Join Lavanya Patricella and learn the 2-Color Thorn Stitch using her included hat pattern. This fun stitch is made using a combination of slip stitches, increases, and decreases. You only ever work 1 color at a time and the pattern lends itself wonderfully to gradient yarn coupled with a contrasting solid. 

The hat comes in sizes Small (18” x 9”), Medium (19” x 10”) or Large (20” x 11”) and is very stretchy. The model in the photo here is wearing a size Medium.

• (140, 160, 180) yards of a gradient Sport weight yarn such as Spincycle Yarns - Dyed In The Wool (Color A in pattern)
• (55, 65, 75) yards of a solid color Sport weight yarn (Color B in pattern)
• Size US 2 16” (2.75 mm 40cm) Circular Needles
• Size US 4 16" (3.5 mm 40cm) Circular Needles
• Size US 4 (3.5 mm) DPNs
• 1 Stitch marker
  

Homework: 

• With US 2 (2.75 mm) 16” (40cm) circular needle and Color A (Spincycle), CO 104, (112, 120) sts. Being careful not to twist, pm and join in the round
• Round 1-20: *p2, k2; repeat from * to end of round
• Switch to US 4 16”
