This nicely textured cowl is effortless to knit.  It is worked alternating a knit round and a slipstitch round that creates a soft, texture fabric that is comfortable and insulating, perfect for chilly or downright cold fall and winter days. The pattern stitch is easy to memorize making it an ideal on-the-go project. Knitted in one size; but can easily be adjusted to be worn longer or short, for both men and women. This fun knit is fast and easy. Hand dyed yarn will pool in the coolest ways with this slipped stitch pattern.

Supplies:
  • 100 grams (220 yards) DK or Worsted weight yarn. Note:  More yarn would be needed for a longer cowl; i.e., 8” high and 46” round.
  • 32-inch size 7 circular needles
  • Stitch marker
  • Tapestry/darning needle
  • Pattern will be provided.

Homework:

Knit a gauge swatch by casting on 28 stitches and knit in Stockinette Stitch for 30 rows (knit on row and purl the next row).  Swatch may be knitted flat.

Skill Level: Intermediate; must be comfortable knitting in the round.
