Knitting patterns can be quite vague, sweater patterns most of all. This class is all about helping you manage some of the more challenging parts of garment projects. We’ll talk about the key decisions to make before you begin: how to make sure you’re choosing a good pattern, and how to select which size to make. We’ll review strategies for yarn choice, and discuss about the whys and wherefores of this gauge business -- and how to deal with it. We’ll share tips for dealing with vague and unclear instructions: how to make the right choice for cast on and bind off, discussing what it really means when it says “increase at the start and end of the row,” what “blocking” is and why it matters so much.
