How to Use the Online Registration System

Note: Registration opens July 10, 2019; the registration site will be visible June 17, 2019 to review classes.

Fees: $60 for a single class, $110 for two classes, $150 for three classes.

Market entry and lunch included with class registration fee. Multi-class discount applies only to an individual student registering for all classes at the same time.  No discounts will be applied if a class is added later.  Each student registering must create a unique account on our registration site. No family accounts.  If you want to register a friend, you will need to login to her account and register separately.

You are currently viewing the Knitters' Day Out main site; the following instructions are specific to the Class Registration site:
We recommend you use the registration site in the following way:
  1. Go to the Login page and login to your account or if you're a first-time user, create your account.  When creating an account, always select "I am registering myself". Note: If you create a family account, the account will need to be separated into individual accounts by the KDO Registrar; this may result in a delay in your registration.
  2. Use the time periods (Fri-PMSat-AMSat-PM) to view the classes in each of those time periods, and select only one class from any time period. When you've found the course you want, you may click View (under Details) to see homework and supplies.
  3. Clicking on "Register Now!" will add a class to your shopping cart. Then click Continue Shopping  or click on any time period to select more courses.
  4. When you've selected all your classes, review your cart to make sure your selections are correct and that you only have one class in any time period (Friday morning, Saturday morning, or Saturday afternoon). My Cart is located on the upper right of the screen and will return you to your cart if you happen to be elsewhere in the Class Registration site. IMPORTANT NOTE: at this time, the system is not checking for conflicting classes. Please verify that you only have one class in each time period.
  5. Click Checkout in the shopping cart when you're ready to submit your payment. Please note: all classes must be in your cart at checkout for the multi-class discounts to apply. Knitters' Day Out accepts Visa and Master Card.
  6. Once your payment is processed, you're enrolled! You should receive a confirmation email immediately.

Please be aware that after 10-15 minutes of inactivity, your cart will be cleared and you will be logged out of the registration system.

If you have questions about registration, see the Frequently Asked Questions, send us a message via the Contact page, or visit the Knitters' Day Out Ravelry group.

Teacher Proposal Submission 2020

Thank you for your interest in teaching at KDO! Knitters' Day Out is held annually at Central Penn College in Summerdale, Pennsylvania. The next KDO is scheduled for September 25 & 26, 2020. There are three class sessions (Friday evening, Saturday morning and Saturday afternoon) and each session lasts 3 hours. Please complete one copy of the Teacher Application Form (even if you completed one in past years), along with a Class Proposal Form for each class you would like to have considered by the committee. You may submit multiple class proposals and note that the committee will only select as many as you are willing to teach.  Please note that we often receive more class proposals than we can schedule, so you are not guaranteed the number of classes you request.

The deadline for submitting class proposals for KDO 2020 is March 1, 2020. If you have any questions, please submit them via the Contact page.

Before submitting proposals, please review the following information regarding handouts, projectors and laptops, and material fees.

Teacher Application Form

Click here for the Teacher Application Form. Please submit only one of these forms.

Class Proposal Form

Click here for the proposal. Please submit one proposal per class concept.

Materials fees:

Any material fees charged must be for the cost of material to the instructor; this applies to handouts as well.

Projectors and Laptops:

KDO does not provide technical support or computer equipment. You are responsible for understanding how to use your laptop with projection systems and for bringing any adaptor cables you might need. We will need to know in advance if you are planning to use the college projection system. Each classroom has a projection system with connectors - there are VGA connectors in ATEC; most teachers will be in Bollinger and Milano where the classrooms have both VGA and HDMI connectors. Info on how to use the projection systems will be provided. Wifi may not be available in all classrooms, so make sure your presentation is saved on your laptop.

NOTE: KDO does not have adaptors for projection connections. Be sure to bring any adaptors and connectors that you may need.

Handouts:

KDO is happy to provide handouts for your classes, but due to increasing copy costs, we have instituted the following guidelines:

  • You must either be the copyright holder or have the permission of the copyright holder to distribute copies.
  • If your handout is available on the Internet, we will include a link to the sources in your class supply list rather than making copies.
  • As an alternative to paper handouts, we will be happy to email your handouts directly to the students in your class.
  • The use of color copies is discouraged, unless the purpose of the color is for instructional rather than aesthetic purposes.
  • Please note that 1 double-sided sheet costs the same to copy as 2 single-sided sheets.
