CLOSED GC. Entrelac Basics, Gwen Bortner
Beginner to Advanced
Have you always wanted to learn entrelac but thought it would be too hard?
Whether a beginner or advanced knitter, this class is for you. During this
class, each student will have the opportunity to knit a small project to gain
hands on experience in the entrelac technique. Participants will learn the seam-
less entrelac technique and basic entrelac construction techniques. A discus-
sion of other project possibilities will also be included.
CLOSED GD. Patent Stitches, Merike Saarniit
Intermediate
Here’s the fast and efficient Estonian method of creating those luscious
brioche-stitch patterns that are so rich in texture. This technique is also used
for unique cables, ribs, and individual motifs that are sure to evoke “How’d
you DO that?!” comments. We’ll swatch all-over patterns, two-color patterns
(where one color ‘net’ seems to float on a different color ground), individual
motifs, and exotic-looking cables that don’t require a cable needle
CLOSED GE. Crazy About Cables, Kathy Zimmerman
Intermediate
Cables add textural interest and beautiful detail to the most basic knitwear
styles, while engaging your mind in a uniquely creative way. Kathy will discuss
the how-tos of reading cable charts and tips for mastering cable stitchwork.
The “hands on” demonstration and classroom practice will include a double
cable technique from Kathy’s original design, the “Wool O’ The Wisp” scarf.
Students may choose to work the scarf OR practice working one of Kathy’s
original cable combinations from a chart.
CLOSED F. Miters & Lace, Jane Bigelow
Intermediate
In this class we will combine picot cast on, yarn overs and modular knitting to
make a scarf that can be either dressy or casual. Made with a lace or sock
weight yarn, the scarf can be worn as an accessory piece in place of jewelry or
made with a heavier yarn, can look very nice with a coat or jacket. It can be
made with yarns specifically purchased for this project or can be knit with
leftover yarns from your stash. After learning the techniques, you can easily
expand the scarf to make a wrap or even an afghan.
CLOSED H. All about Short Rows, Alice Bish

The human body is full of bumps and angles. Short rows help shape your
knitting into dimensional shapes that will fit heels, toes, tummies, boobs, etc.
Explore the short row technique in this hands on class. Learn three different
ways to do short rows (W&T, Japanese and purl bump pick up). Learn where
and when to add short rows. And if you’ve done short rows before, but didn’t
